Biosketch of Prof. Dr. Prakash Raj Regmi

Dr P R Regmi, Master in Cardiology (1987) has served for 33 years in hospitals under the ministry of health, Nepal, as a senior consultant, head of the department of cardiology and professor of Cardiology at the National Academy of Medical sciences.He has been devoting most of the time in the prevention and control Non Communicable Diseases with focus in Rheumatic Heart Disease prevention in Nepal. Currently he is the president of Nepal NCD Alliance and the National program director at the Nepal heart foundation (NHF). He has authored several books, training manuals and research articles on RHD and NCDs. He has served as the chief editor of Nepalese Heart Journal, an official publication of Cardiac Society of Nepal. He served as the guideline development group member in the WHO RHD publication 2024. He is actively involved in heart screening of children under NHF as the team leader and has completed screening of 300,000 children.He is the initiator and executive director of END RHD campaign Nepal and the RHD research fund at NHF.

Post doctoral training in interventional cardiology. The goal of the program is to provide state-of-the art training in all aspects of adult interventional cardiology. Training is focused on obtaining mastery of the cognitive and technical skills necessary to care for patients with coronary artery disease, peripheral arterial disease and structural heart disease. Dr. Regmi completed his postdoctoral in 2001.
